MEET THE DOCTORS

Anthony J. DeFilippo, D.M.D.

Dr. Anthony DeFilippo was born and raised in North Haven, CT. He attended Providence College after graduating from Notre Dame West Haven. Dr. DeFilippo was a member of the Liberal Arts Honors Program and graduated Cum Laude from Providence in 2016, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a minor in Neuroscience. He was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Professional Honor Society, the Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, and the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society.

He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D) from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2020, earning the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Dental Award. Dr. DeFilippo then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.

Dr. DeFilippo joined Dental Associates of Wethersfield in 2021 after completing his general practice residency and took over ownership of the practice in 2025. Outside of the office, Dr. Anthony enjoys a plethora of things. If he isn’t in his plant room, filled with a multitude of different tropical house plants, he is most likely either at Crossfit or enjoying a long hike with his wife Tessa and their dog, Magnolia.

James S. DeFilippo, D.D.S.

Dr. James DeFilippo is also originally from southern Connecticut, being born and raised in the New Haven area. After graduating from The Hopkins School in 1975, he went on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree in biology and was inducted into the Sigma Xi Honor Society. Dr. DeFilippo loved the DC area so much that he continued his studies at Georgetown, receiving his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the School of Dentistry.

After a four year association with a group practice in Willimantic, Dr. DeFilippo joined Dental Associates of Wethersfield, where he soon after took over ownership with Dr. Randall Rushin.

Fun fact: Dr. James DeFilippo is the uncle of Dr. Anthony DeFilippo!

Randall J. Rushin, D.D.S.

Dr. Rushin is a native of Jamestown, New York. He attended the State University of New York at Albany where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He attendedGeorgetown University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1984 with honors. In 1985, Dr.

Rushin completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Rushin joined Dental Associates of Wethersfield in 1987 after a two-year association with a group practice in Cromwell. Alongside Dr. James S. DeFilippo, they were the owners of Dental Associates of Wethersfield for almost 30 years. He currently resides in East Hampton with his wife Diane.
